i went for my second visit to Perouges, with Tim and Carol, since i have lived in Lyon, France. It was even better than the first visit because this time i saw goats, really cute ones, and i saw a Frenchman shear sheep. There were some kids from a school on a field trip and they seemed to enjoy it almost as much as i enjoyed it. i think the sheep enjoyed it too because they were kept saying “Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!”
We took a coach bus there, which leaves from across Hotel Dieu and takes a little over an hour to reach Perouges and then it is about a 15 minutes walk uphill. The bus ride is 2 euros one way. A huge bargain. The other option is to take a train, but the walk is at least double and i would imagine the price is too.
We ate at a great little restaurant, Les Terrasses Perouges, which had excellent food and a very sympathetic staff. i highly recommend it.
i am anticipating a third visit when my best friend arrives in the summer.
more to come…
