i will not bore you with all the details of the park known as Parc de la Tête d’Or (“Park of the Golden Head”) because you can read about it on Wikipedia. It is called the Park of the Golden Head because it was found from a legend saying that a treasure with a Christ‘s head could be buried in the park. Doubtful.
But i will say it is extremely beautiful, tranquil (except if you walk to the area where the silly little children are screaming bloody mary) and relaxing. You can observe many joggers, beautiful flowers, a lake, swans and ducks in the lake, people enjoying a picnic of prepared delicacies from home and people sitting on benches reading a book in front of the lake.
If you visit Lyon, i highly recommend putting together a picnic basket, grab an old blanket and a good book, then head out to the park for a nice relaxing day of rest.
