Buffalo Springfield Again from Buffalo Springfield is one of those album titles that I would not consider creative from the 60s. In fact, I think the album cover is the most creative part of the whole project.
How is it that a super group can be quite boring? I would say that Buffalo Springfield is an early prototype of the later super groups that would pop up occasionally such as Traveling Wilburys and Asia. I would think having David Crosby, Stephen Stills (both would later form Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young) and Richie Furay who would join Poco would result in an entertaining album.
Psychedelic and folk together are not really my cup of tea. I want one or the other. I think some bands try too hard to be many things. They should first master one genre.
The song “Sad Memory” ask “Why I’m so blue, why I’m so blue”. I wondered the same thing as I listened to this album. Actually, that is one of the better songs on the album.
Overall the album is quite boring even though the musicians are talented and would later achieve more success in other bands. I will rate it mediocre since it is not horrible. 5/10.
Did you know that Richie Furay was the pastor of Calvary Chapel Boulder (which then moved to Broomfield and is now called CC Broomfield) for many years?
No, i did not know that. It is a small world.
