I could skip this album and write a review for it and nobody would know any difference. I do not like Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young as a band. Déjà Vu is the first album to feature Neil Young. Mostly, I think David Crosby is a terrible singer and I have not liked anything about him as a person either. What elevates the album from being less than bad? Neil Young.
Young sings lead on “Helpless“. It is the best song on the album. Neil Young is one of the better musicians I have discovered on this list of 1001 albums.
Most of the songs are just stupid to me. “Almost Cut My Hair”, “Déjà Vu”, and “Our House”. I cannot recommend this album unless you like four dudes singing harmonies and sometimes not. 4/10.
