#419 Dire Straits – Dire Straits

Dire Straits is not a band I have ever liked. I hated their hit song “Money for Nothing“. MTV wore it out. Mark Knopfler’s vocals sound like he is singing in a pub which has about five drunk guest and one bartender wondering where he went wrong.

The only song I really like is “Wild West End“. “Sultans of Swing” was a hit, but it is kind of meh.

They are talented musicians, but I am not a fan of the vocals. I think Knopfler is doing a bad imitation of Bob Dylan. If I want to listen to someone sounding like Dylan, then I will listen to the man himself. 6/10.
