#850 Cornershop – When I Was Born for the 7th Time

So many bands lately I have not heard of before doing this list of 1001 Albums… Cornershop is a British indie rock band who released their third album When I Was Born for the 7th Time in 1997.

My favourite songs are “Sleep on the Left Side”, “It’s Indian Tobacco My Friend”, “Brimful of Asha“, “We’re in Yr Corner”, “Butter the Soul”, “Chocolat”, and

I thought I would hate this album. I was wrong. It is so interesting. The music is like if indie rock and Indian music got married, but their families were happy about it. The albums starts off great, but takes a dive in the middle. I mean a real deep dive, but it regains some of it former glory towards the end of the album. 7/10.
