The Streets is basically one person English rapper and producer Michael Skinner. A Grand Don’t Come For Free is his second critically acclaimed album. The album is a rap opera, which does not sound interesting to me. The story is of a man who meets a girl, starts a relationship, and loses £1,000 from his home. Exciting, I know. Well, the girl cheats on him. I suspect she took the money.
Overall, I hated everything on this album. I feel like I am taking crazy pills. Who were the critics that loved this album? I wish they could explain it to me. I hated Skinner’s vocals. He is just talking throughout every song. It seems like anyone could create this crap. I almost hated this more than Joan Baez. 1/10.
