I think Amy Winehouse was overrated. It is how I felt about her music. It was okay, but nothing to get all excited about. I think I only knew of one or two songs before doing this challenge. My opinion did not change with the first album. Perhaps her second studio album Back to Black will change my mind. On the plus side, Mark Ronson co-produced the album. The themes on the album all seem to revolve around her relationship with Blake Fielder-Civil.
Maybe she should have yes, yes, yes, to going to “Rehab“. She might be alive today. I did not really like any of the songs enough to add to my list.
Overall, Winehouse sounds too much like artists I have heard in the past, such as Marvin Gaye and Ronnie Spector. I think my mother might like it because she liked all the 60s pop singers too. I think this album is a bit better than her debut album, but not enough for me to listen to it again. 5/10.
