…and i hate writing about myself. It feels awkward. Or i am a bit awkward and rather not write about it. i have not got a clue where to begin or end… …at this very moment i am a recent graduate of Colorado State University. i live in Longmont, Colorado, which i next to Boulder. Boulder is where all hipsters live. See, this crap is rather boring. i moved here from Budapest, Hungary four years ago, well, actually that is sort of a lie. i was living in Lyon, France one year before i moved to Colorado and before that Hungary. i like to travel or move. i keep moving… i have many interest besides moving: writing, watching, taking, listening and reading (stories, films, photographs, music and books).

#275 Bob Marley and the Wailers – Catch A Fire

Bob Marley and the Wailers‘s Catch A Fire is not something that I thought I would like. Reggae songs all start sounding very similar to each other. It has that up and down beat all throughout the song. My favourite songs are “Slave Driver“, “Stir It Up“, “Stop That Train“, and “Baby We’ve Got a Date (Rock It Baby)“. I have heard “Stir […]

#274 King Crimson – Larks’ Tongues in Aspic

Larks’ Tongues in Aspic is the fifth studio of King Crimson. This is a band I have heard of their name, but not their music. I have heard more about and from consistent member Robert Fripp. This album moves the band’s evolution into Eastern European classical music and European free improvisation. Many consider them key to […]

#273 David Bowie – Aladdin Sane

Aladdin Sane and David Bowie came out in time for all the freaks and geeks who felt left out by the machismo of rock and roll and its followers. I am not saying any type of genre belongs to any one group of people, but during the 70s things were more segregated even in music, […]

#272 Michael Viner’s Incredible Bongo Band – Bongo Rock

Bongo Rock does not sound like something that one would seek out to buy or to listen to unless in a hostage situation. Michael Viner’s Incredible Bongo Band was a side project for Viner. He was on a label which included many artist and producers who passed through the studio so many of them pitched […]

#271 Lynyrd Skynyrd – Pronounced Leh-nerd Skin-nerd

Pronounced Leh-nerd Skin-nerd is one of those albums that I have zero interest in listening to before today. Exactly what is a Lynyrd Skynyrd? It sounds like a redneck name. Is that racist or something of me? This is their debut album. This is not going well for me. It all sounds the same. I […]

#270 The Rolling Stones – Exile on Main Street

The Rolling Stones‘ Exile on Main Street his the last album from them on this list. I find that shocking. This album is very different than their previous works. Gone is the Andy Warhol art, the hot singles and they are swinging it free range.  “Rocks Off” opens the album with a good beat, but […]

#269 Al Green – Let’s Stay Together

Let us skip the intro on this one. “Let’s Stay Together” is an iconic song. I am not sure who I heard sing it first, but I imagine it was Al Green, since it was a song my mother loved. I wonder if the album Let’s Stay Together will be as iconic as this song. Green’s […]

#268 War – The World Is A Ghetto

The World Is A Ghetto is the first War album I have heard, although I have heard of one of the songs, but not often. I had no idea War was a black group. It is not an important fact, just a statement of truth. I am tired of the racial problems in the USA […]

#267 David Bowie – The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars

The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars is David Bowie‘s fifth studio album and the second on the list of 1001 Albums… This should be enjoyable because I have liked Bowie since I was a young lad. The theme on this album, a bisexual alien rock superstar, called Ziggy Stardust, called […]

#266 The Temptations – All Directions

The Temptations are back with their second and final album All Directions on the list of 1001 Albums… There are songs on the album that I recognise, but not by The Temptations. The fink starts off immediately with “Funky Music Sho Nuff Turns Me On“. It is an awesome showcase of musical growth for the […]
